Laser Hair Reduction
Excess body or facial hair can be a problem for both women and men. Frequent hair removal chores including shaving, depilatories, plucking, and waxing are time-consuming, often painful, and always inconvenient. At best, they offer only temporary results, for some only a few hours. Laser technology has brought us a better way, a safe, long-lasting way to remove unwanted hair from any part of the body, leaving skin feeling smooth and healthy.
Equipment
We use the Candela GentlePro laser. A laser with two wavelengths ideally suited for both light and dark skin types. The GentlePro sends a high energy pulse that gives off a gentle beam of light directly to the hair follicle destroying the actual follicle without affecting the surrounding skin. It delivers a controlled amount of heat along with a cooling burst of Cryogen to the treatment area allowing guests to remain comfortable during treatments.
What to Expect
The laser hair removal treatment can be as short as a few minutes or take an hour or more, depending on the size of the area being treated and density of hair growth. It is entirely safe and generally painless, with the laser selectively targeting the hair follicle without damage to the skin. Each laser hair removal treatment will result in a hair growth reduction. Additionally, hair will grow progressively slower, lighter, and finer with each treatment. Because laser treatment destroys only the hair follicle during its growth cycle, having no effect on the follicles that are dormant at the time of treatment, multiple sessions are required to achieve total hair removal in an area.
The appearance of the treated area immediately following a session will vary from client to client, though side effects are rare. Any swelling or redness at the treatment site typically goes away within a couple hours, and most people are able to return to normal activity immediately. The best news is that many of the unwanted hairs are gone at the end of the treatment.
